Bring your mp3 player, with the sound reduction kind, because the traffic is intense on this road, either with taxi drivers hawking you for a tourist rate fare or transport. One things for sure, the seaside is a vibrant spot. I saw High class boardwalks of beaches that require an admission fee, old boat graveyards, lovers and friends playing games, corn on the cob vendors abundant here, hideous eyesore garbage heaps and run down alley buildings, ornate and eye adoring architecture high-rises, and of course the famous stray cat magnet lady. The beaches here are not the classical european style, where you may see topless woman. Nay, even the men here prefer to keep their shirts on, and the woman have hijabs. only the young men and girls may wear the bathing suits it seemed to suggest to me. For some reason they have young men monitering the beaches and the entrance. the are pests, pestering about umbrellas and such! They were trying to make me feel comfortable with an umbrella, but i didnt wanna tip them . Also, the washrooms are disgusting, even for rinsing or washing Overall, the mediterrean is to thank for the beauty of alexandria, and little else. The power of the sea! The breeze is tangible, and even the conservative society here takes advantage of it. The poverty is evident in parts, but the sunset here is worth it.

Its no wonder world leader decide to hold talks here at this private park. There is an entrance fee but its worth it. Mark this as the park with the greatest number of palm tree enclosed. Its beautiful! locals would drive up the long driveway inside the park, getting closer to ocean. I walked. even better seeing all the flowers, well maintained hedges, and parkly goodness. A favourite leisure activity for Arab families, this park is a perfect setting for a picnic, an afternoon of enjoying the outdoors mother nature and chit chat, lovers spending quality time, and with the children out on a trip. Actually locals even can rent cottages on the beaches! lucky! there are many sights in this park. Notably the architecture on the bridge featured in the photo, a resort Hilton within, the historic palace and nearby amazing jagged rock style landscape and gazebo. There are many spots here where you can sit down and watch the waves crash onto the shore. Overall this park is an enclosure of privilege sheltered from the barbarous outside. Egypt has much poverty, and this park is a shelter, which is why world leaders come here. BUT I spent like three hours out of 7 in this place that i had on a day trip in alexandria, and it was worth it. A MUST DO! TIP: Spend a night in the hotel, or in the resort houses if you can arrange to spend a few nights. its beautiful here, and the people are more friendly so you can meet egyptians easier.
