The picture is of the beautiful Mission of Santa Barbara which started it all. Santa Barbara is a wonderfully laid-back little beach/college town just 2 hours north of Los Angeles and about 5 hours south of San Francisco. I've spent a lot of time here in college and the years after and I try to make at least one trip here a year. It's great to drive around and explore the backroads, visit the many garage sales and walk down State street with the beautiful people. There's nothing like the smell of ocean air with a hint of tar to bring back memories.
