Sogo is a very large Japanese department store chain. Within it's walls you will find everything from clothes and home furnishings to food and other groceries.

What To Buy: Sogo is a good palce to go if you want to buy just about anything. In my opinion the best deals are in the basement where you'll find the grocery store. If you're tired of paying HK's high prices for food or if you just want to get a little something for a picnic then Sogo is the place to go. Keep an eye out for the fresh sushi specials at around dinner time where the sushi is marked down on the spot.

What To Pay: If you come here to pick up food it's going to be much cheaper than eating out. Sogo also has many sales on clothes and other items so keep an eye out.

Golden Computer Arcade: The Place To Go For Computer Goods

  • Name of Shop: Golden Computer Arcade

This is the place to go for computer parts and accessories. 2 floors of small shops featuring everything from hard drives and motherboards to software, books and blank CDs. You'll find it all under one roof here. In the basement you will find shops that focus mainly on computer goods while on the 1st floor you'll find more shops that focus on console games (PS2, X-Box, Gamecube)

What To Buy: Buy it all here from PC hardware, to software to blank CDs. I usually pick up a few software titles as well as some unique CDRs while I'm here.

What To Pay: Prices are pretty good on CDs and blank DVDs. Some software can be found for very cheap. Most hardware is priced close to what you would find in the states with the exception of some no-name accessories.

This is one of the best transportation tip I had seen in here so far;-) Thanks! Visit HK again...it still is a vibrant and complex city...just there last weekend!

Good and accurate tips on the transportation, I used all three of them during my company trips there. Next time that I’m in Hong Kong I shall go to dinner in that Thai restaurant that you recommend it sounds delicious. Great page,
