"GOA "Here & There"" s.e.a.n's Profile
Goa is a beautiful friendly place, there is plenty to do and each time you visit there is always something you have missed or a place you have yet to see.Maybe they are the reasons why we will all return ? If you do prefer to get out and about and try and see different things its perfect, aswell as enjoying a day on a nice beach , ending with beautiful sunsets. Not everyone will fall in love with Goa,but I believe there is something for everyone there.
Goa has some wonderful beaches in north Goa. It depends what you are looking which beach you choose. Candolim,Calangute & Baga are more vibrant & have more shacks selling good food & drink and the more relaxed atmosphere of Manderim,Arambol,Ozrant and Morjim further north. Palolem moving to the south is well know for its beach huts and palm fringed shores.
Panjim is the capital of Goa and is a busy vibrant place. It has plenty to see around and about . It has a great fruit market and plenty of shops. It also has some intresting chapels & churches. Panjim is also popular for river boat tours from its harbour at sunset, which includes traditional goan singing and dancing.
The Traffic in Goa can be quite hectic.Taxis are cheap also the auto rickshaws are good fun .Or you can catch a local bus which is an expierence in itself. Many prefer to rent ,hire or borrow a motorcycle or scooter.
You a required to have a international Drivers Permit to support you own licence when riding a scooter in india. They are easily obtainable from AA or RAC websites or The Post Office back home. £5.00 for 12 months.
